Perfectly Imperfect decidedly isn’t The Strategist or Wirecutter, so I feel like such a shill coming on here to tell you that this product actually Changed My Life.

I had a bad habit of walking to my corner coffee shop every single day to buy a $6 cold brew only for it to make me and my wallet feel terrible. I’d tried to break the destructive cycle many times by making some v60 pour over, but it never stuck. It took too much time and I didn’t actually enjoy the process or whatever.

The beautiful and elegant Moccamaster stuck itself deep on my internal wishlist for over a year after Dan Pelosi recommended it in January 2021 and I’ve never looked back since pulling the trigger on my own last Spring.

Its intuitive and mechanical design hasn’t changed much since its inception in 1968 which makes it really easy for me when I’m on autopilot in the morning. Just grind some beans, add some water, and flip a switch— you’re done. This sets me up drink half a pot of delicious coffee before noon and be very productive yet slightly manic for the entire day.

It comes in fun bright colors. Don’t buy it in silver or black, you’re better than that.
