A Nerdy Rec for a Sexy Display

I try to stay away from tech recs on Perfectly Imperfect and on T-Recs because, well, they’re usually lame and boring. However it’s a real part of me and I need to publicly own my fascination with nerdy thingamajigs.

Last year I was on the market for a new monitor and specifically wanted something as sharp, bright, and colorful as my Macbook’s screen. The sad truth is that if you want a nice spec’d out display it’s probably going to look like a Gamer Chair with a bunch of red LEDs and shit, so your options are pretty limited if you care about how it looks on your desk.

Sure, the official Mac monitor is pretty and powerful but it’s also fuckin expensive, so I was very interested in Alex’s discovery of a sexy monitor from the brand HUAWEI that was nearly as good as Apple’s display and much less expensive.

The only real downside is that HUAWEI doesn’t really have distribution in the US so I had to buy it from Amazon Denmark, which felt a little sketch. I was very pleased when it arrived on my doorstep in one piece.

Oh, and the other weird thing is the display’s aspect ratio (3:2), but I got used to it pretty quickly.

It’s been a year now and I have no qualms at all.
