👖 J. Crew’s Giant Chinos

There’s been a lot of hype for this new era of J. Crew with them bringing on Brendon Babenzien from Noah and hiring tastemakers like Chris Black to creative direct it all.

I don’t know if it’s actually cool again. I mean, they surely want you to think it is with all the press on the subject or by booking the iconic rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs to play the menswear brand’s insiders only launch party.

Context aside, I know a good no bullshit pair of pants when I see them, and the rightfully praised Giant Fit Chinos fit the bill. They’re basically JNCOs when compared to J-Crew’s usual slim fit, but really they’re just a nice baggy “straight” fit.

I snagged a pair in Black and a pair in classic Khaki. I love them both.
